It will take time to settle into the new studio to adjust to new sounds, atmospheres and different visual stimuli. I have been thinking today how the fresh nuances that this change will afford will be folded into the work. Where everything has its place and significance. Where meaning is caught or let loose. Where each decision is examined and considered and reconsidered.
In this search for rigour each part of a piece of work must be left to wait. Left to time to make its own shifting subtle mark, to wait for groupings to form and dialogues to take place, to wait for the critical eye and potentially cruel hand to sift out or rework.
It is a game of endurance to allow the underlying concepts of my practice…as ephemeral and tricky as they are to define…to resonate throughout the work.
