Dumb heads.

Working on my ‘head’, my studio, a cocoon of quiet, a place to slow down, to allow ‘process’ to be faltering and gentle, I found myself thinking about the distorted clay heads of Merisa Merz. Either placed singly on a plinth or as a group on the floor they were for me the centrepieces of her show, just finished at The Serpentine Gallery.http://www.serpentinegalleries.org/exhibitions-events/marisa-merz

I am not quite sure what it was about these still, dumb individuals that caught my imagination but somehow they have taken up residence in my mind this week, emerging softly… pencil on paper.
